July Travel Bento

Preparation Notes
Traveling this summer? Remember to pack a bento so you won't have to settle for fast food or overpriced on-the-go meals. Here's one example for keeping it simple, delicious, and fun. And don't forget to use your bento box as a reusable take-out or "doggy bag" container when you're out seeing the world!
Slice two hard-boiled eggs in half.
Cut some fresh strawberries.
Add a handful of pretzel sticks.
Steam and cut some fresh green beans.

Avocado, Mango, and Black Beans

This grab n' go bento is easy to prepare and fun to eat. The variety of colors and textures mirrors the range of flavors and nutrients in this healthy yet simple lunch. Happy spring!
Slice the avocado in half, retaining the pit.
Include some eggplant dip that you've either prepared or purchased.
Fill a second dip container with salsa or pico de gallo.
Slice the whole wheat pita bread into triangles.
Scoop some black beans into one of the medium containers.
Peel and slice a mango.
